Thekkady Spices

We’ve been running things from 18, Angoorpalayam Road for quite some time now. It’s a pretty busy street with people coming and going, but we like the energy of it. Thekkady Spices isn't some big, polished company with a lobby or anything like that. It’s basically just us, some heavy sacks of spices, and a couple of wooden tables. My hands usually smell like black pepper or cloves by the time I head home for dinner. We don't spend any money on advertising or fancy signs. Most folks in the neighborhood just know where we are. We try to keep the shop tidy, but when you're dealing with spices, there’s always a bit of dust in the air. It gets really hot in the mid-afternoon, so we usually keep the front door wide open to catch any breeze. You might see one of us sitting on a stool outside if it’s a slow day. We source the stuff, pack it up, and sell it right here. It’s just honest work that keeps us busy from morning till night. Sometimes the big delivery trucks block the whole road, and the neighbors get a bit annoyed, but we try to move fast. My father started this business years ago, and I just sort of stepped in to keep it going. There isn't much of a story besides that. We just want to keep the jars full and make sure people get what they need without any trouble. It’s just a regular shop.
