Spice Palace

Spice Palace is right at 35/4, at the Jm Junction in Kumily. Being at the junction means we see a lot of traffic and people passing through on their way to the mountains. The air here is often damp because of the weather in Kumily, so we have to be very careful with how we store our spices. We spend a lot of time checking for moisture. The shop is filled with the scent of pepper and cinnamon, which are big around here. We have a lot of wooden bins where we keep the bulk items. The floor is concrete and it’s a bit uneven in places. We don't have any corporate branding or fancy uniforms. We just wear what is comfortable for moving boxes around. The rain here can be quite heavy, and we often have to pull the shutters down halfway to keep the water from blowing in. It is a busy life at the junction. We spend a lot of time talking to travelers and showing them what we have on the shelves. Sometimes the power goes out when there is a storm, and we just light a few candles and keep going. There isn't any kind of grand plan or anything like that. We just show up, open the shop, and handle the day as it comes. It is a practical way to live and work.
