Down near the Gandhishila area in Kattappana, you’ll find us at Door No. XVII/1441. It’s a beautiful part of Idukki, though the hills make traveling a bit slow sometimes. Mountain Valley Agri Producer Company Limited started because the folks around here needed a way to work together. The air is different up here in the mountains. We spend a lot of time dealing with the Bharatiya Kisan Development Society. Our office is simple, just some desks and a lot of records of what’s being grown in the valleys. We deal with everything from spices to vegetables. It’s a busy place during the harvest months. You’ll see trucks coming and going all the time. Sometimes it gets a bit chaotic in the office with everyone talking at once. We don't mind it, though. It’s better than it being silent. We’ve seen the seasons change many times from this spot. Dealing with mountain farming has its own set of headaches, like the landslides or the heavy mists. But we just keep moving. We are local people through and through. Most of us have our own small plots of land too. When we talk to a farmer, we know exactly what they are going through because we are going through it ourselves. It’s a practical way to run a business. No frills, just honest work in the high country.
