Krishna Spices

We are up at Plot 45 in Munnar. It is a quiet spot, away from some of the bigger crowds you find in the middle of town. Up here, the air is usually damp and cool, which changes how you have to store things. We deal with spices, mostly what grows in the hills around this area. It's a small operation. Most days it is just us checking on the stock and making sure everything is staying dry. There isn't much to the building, just some sturdy walls and plenty of shelf space. We don’t have a big staff or a marketing team. If you come by, you’ll probably just see one or two of us working. Sometimes we are out back handling the cleaning of the seeds or pods. It’s a slow process if you want to do it right. The road up here can be a bit tricky when it rains hard, so we have to plan our transport carefully. We’ve been here for a good while, and we like the pace of things. It’s not like the city. You have time to actually look at what you are handling. We just try to keep the business going steady and stay on good terms with the local growers who bring us their crops. There is always a pot of tea going, and we just handle the bags as they come in. It’s basic work, but it keeps us busy enough.
