Highrange Spices

Started the day early today at Kumily Junction. Highrange Spices has been sitting here right near the State Bank of Travancore for a while now. You can usually find one of us sweeping the front step or checking the weight on the old scales. We mostly deal with what comes in from the local growers, so the smell of cardamom and pepper is always hanging in the air, sticking to our clothes. It is not a fancy setup. The shelves are just plain wood and we spend a lot of time double-checking the bags for holes. Some days the traffic at the junction is a real headache, especially when the bank gets busy and cars park all over the place. We just keep our heads down and get the orders ready for whoever stops by. It’s mostly just us and a couple of helpers lifting the heavy sacks in the back room. Sometimes the rain comes down hard and we have to rush to move everything away from the door. It is honest work, even if the floor is never quite as clean as we want it to be. We have been at Plot No. 183 long enough that people know where to find us without a big sign. We do not do much advertising because there is enough to do just keeping up with the inventory and making sure the lids are on tight. Just a local spot doing what we do.
