Al Rabee Spices

We are at Number 18, right at Thekkady Junction in Kumily. It is a very central spot, close to the Green Lake, so there are always people walking around. At Al Rabee Spices, we deal with the many different spices that grow in this part of the mountains. Our shop is a bit small but we make the most of the space we have. We keep rows of jars and bags filled with everything from cinnamon sticks to vanilla beans. Most of the day is spent helping people who are visiting Thekkady and want to see what the local produce is like. We also have regular locals who come in for their daily cooking needs. It is a busy intersection, so there is a lot of noise from the cars and the motorcycles outside. We don't have a big marketing department or anything; we just open the doors and wait for people to come in. The building is simple and we keep things organized so we can find what a customer wants quickly. We have been at the junction for several years and have become a part of the daily life in Kumily. It is a good place to work because you get to meet people from all over the world. We just focus on our spices and try to make sure we have enough stock for the busy weekends when the crowds arrive. It's a hectic life but we enjoy being here.
