Pragati Granite

Most days around Vijay Market, it gets a bit crowded. Pragati Granite is situated at Plot No-65. If you're coming down Rajchandra Vihar Road, you'll see us. We’re quite close to the Mahakali Temple, which helps people find the turn. The yard stays pretty dusty because of all the stone we move around. It’s heavy work, mostly just unloading trucks and making sure everything is sitting right so nothing cracks. Someone is usually here early to open up the gates. We don't have a fancy office or anything like that. Just a desk and chairs where we sit and talk to whoever walks in. Sometimes people are just looking for a small piece for a kitchen or a bathroom. Other times it's a whole truckload. The sun hits the slabs in the afternoon and you can really see the patterns in the granite. It’s quiet in the mornings before the traffic picks up on Rajchandra Vihar Road. We’ve been at this spot for some time now. You get used to the noise from the market nearby. It’s just a regular place where we sell stone. If you look for the Mahakali Temple, you can’t really miss the turn for Plot No-65. We spend a lot of time just moving pieces around with the crane. It’s hard on the hands and the back, but it's what we do here. There’s always a bit of tea going around if it’s a slow hour and the weather is nice.
