Slr Dairy & Agri Farms

Slr Dairy & Agri Farms is out at Sy. No 46 in Nerrapally, which is part of Ibrahimpatnam. It’s a proper farm, so there is always a lot of mud and a lot of work to be done. We have the cattle to look after and the fields to keep an eye on. It’s a long day, starting before it's light out and often finishing well after dark. The cows need feeding and milking, and there is always something that needs fixing, like a fence or a pump. It’s not a clean job. You end up with dirt under your nails and boots that are always caked in something. We grow a few things on the land too, depending on the season and if the rain decides to show up or not. The air out here is different from the city, a bit fresher but heavy with the smell of the animals. We move at a different pace, mostly dictated by the needs of the livestock. Sometimes a calf is born in the middle of the night, and we’re out there in the cold helping out. It’s just the way life is on a farm. We don't have a storefront or anything, just the gate and the sheds where the work happens. It’s a hard way to make a living, but it’s what we know how to do. We just keep at it day after day here in Nerrapally.
