Woodland Hospitals

You’ll find Woodland Hospitals at 3-4-852, right across from Barkatpura. It’s a central spot, so there is never a dull moment. The traffic out front is constant, and you can hear the buses shifting gears all day long. We have a lot of rooms packed into this building. It feels a bit like a hive sometimes. People are coming in for all sorts of reasons, and we try to keep the lines moving at the front desk. The receptionists are usually juggling three things at once. We’ve got some old chairs in the lobby that have been there since I started. They aren’t the most comfortable, but they do the job. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we are more focused on keeping the equipment running. Our staff stays on their feet for hours. You see them leaning against the walls for a second before heading into the next room. There is a small cafeteria that serves decent coffee, which is what keeps most of us going. We don’t have a lot of fancy decorations. It’s a working hospital, plain and simple. Some days are harder than others, especially when it’s raining and everyone brings in mud. We just mop it up and keep going. It’s a local place for local people. Barkatpura is always moving, and we are just trying to keep up with the rhythm of the neighborhood every single day.
