Vijay Kumar Krana Store

Our shop is located in M J Market in Nampally. If you know where the Famous Ice Cream place is, then finding us is easy because we are right near it. It is a busy part of Hyderabad and the noise from the street is always there. The store is packed with sacks of grains and different kinds of lentils. We spend a lot of time weighing things out for customers who have been coming to us for years. My family has been running this for a while. It’s not a big supermarket, just a regular kirana store where you can find the daily stuff for your kitchen. Sometimes it gets a bit tight inside when three or four people come at once. We don't have a computerized system, just a notebook and a pen for keeping track of things. The fans hum all day to keep the heat away. Some days are very busy, especially during festivals when everyone wants sugar and oil. We try to keep things organized but sometimes the stock arrives late and boxes sit in the corner for a bit. It’s just how it goes here. You won't find any fancy signs. We just open the shutters, sweep the floor, and wait for the regulars. It’s a quiet life in a loud market. We just keep the staples stocked and the scale ready for the next person who walks through the door.
