Vignan Vidyalayam Junior College For Girls

Nizampet Road is always a mess with traffic. The college building for the girls is right in the middle of Kukatpally. It is a multi-story place. We spend a lot of time walking up and down the stairs because the elevator is often slow or busy. The girls come from all over Hyderabad. You can hear the constant chatter during the lunch break. We have these wooden benches and whiteboards that get stained easily over time. It is mostly quiet during the exams, but otherwise, it is quite loud with all the talking in the corridors. There is a tea stall nearby that the staff likes to visit. We have been operating here for a few years now. The girls study hard, especially when the board exams are close. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to wait for the generator to kick in. The walls are painted a light color to keep it feeling cool, but in the Hyderabad summer, it does not always work well. It is not a huge campus, but we manage with the rooms we have. We do not have a lot of greenery, just a few potted plants near the entrance that someone forgets to water sometimes. It is just a place where the girls come to finish their junior college years and move on to whatever is next. Life here is mostly about schedules and making sure everyone is in their seat on time. We see the same faces every day and it feels like a small community.
