Upper Assam Tea Co.

Our office at Upper Assam Tea Co. is located at 4-2-301 in Sultan Bazar. If you’ve ever been to Sultan Bazar, you know how crowded and lively it gets. There’s always someone shouting, a horn honking, or the sound of people bargaining just outside the door. Our space is tucked away in this busy market area, and we’ve been here for quite some time. The room is filled with the smell of paper and old wood. We have a few heavy wooden tables and chairs that have been with us since the beginning. Most of our day is spent talking to suppliers and keeping track of what’s coming in and going out. It’s a very hands-on kind of job. We don’t have much in the way of fancy technology, just the basics to keep the records straight. The building itself is older, with high ceilings and thick walls that help keep things a bit cooler than the street outside. We usually have a lot of samples sitting around, and we spend a good chunk of time checking through them. It’s not a corporate environment by any stretch of the imagination. It’s more like a busy workshop where everyone knows their role. We take our breaks when we can, often just standing by the window to watch the chaos of the bazar below. It’s a steady way of working that suits us just fine.
