Our place, Uppal Ferrocast Pvt. Ltd., is located at C-9/3 in the IDA Uppal area. This is a foundry, so it is naturally a hot and intense environment to work in. We deal with molten metal and sand molds all day, so everyone stays pretty alert. The floor is covered in fine sand and there is always a layer of dust on the windows, no matter how often we try to clean them. We’ve got a furnace that is the heart of the operation, and when it is running, you can feel the heat even from the front gate. It is not a job for everyone, and the crew we have are tough people who don't mind getting their clothes ruined by the soot. We make various castings that eventually end up as parts for bigger machines or infrastructure projects. The IDA area is quite packed, and we have to be smart about how we store the raw iron and the finished products because space is tight. We don't have a marketing team or a sleek reception desk; we just have a small cabin where we keep the ledgers and answer the phone when it rings. Usually, it is a customer checking on a delivery or a supplier truck trying to find our gate in the maze of Uppal. We just focus on the heat, the molds, and getting the metal poured correctly.
