University College Of Engineering Osmania University

This department is tucked away in the University College of Engineering area within Osmania University. It’s been sitting here in Cyberabad for a long time. If you walk through the halls of the Mechanical Engineering building, you will see a lot of old equipment mixed with some newer machines. Students are always running around with papers or working in the labs on various projects. It is not the quietest place in the world because of the machines running and all the constant talking. We have the workshops where things actually get built and taken apart. It feels like a real place where actual work happens, not just a clean office or a boring computer room. The hallways are quite wide and the ceilings are high, which is typical for these older university buildings in Telangana. Professors have their small offices filled to the brim with books and old research papers. We spend a lot of time just getting through the tough curriculum. It involves a lot of math and technical drawing. Sometimes the old ceiling fans are clicking away while everyone tries to focus on a lecture during the hot months. It is part of the bigger university system, but we kind of have our own world here in the mechanical wing. People come from all over the state to study with us. It's a bit of a maze if you aren't used to the layout. The garden outside is okay for a quick lunch break. We don't have fancy lounges, just benches and classrooms.
