Taksha Lace is tucked away at No. 6/6/439/7- A, right behind Praga Tools. It’s a bit of a specific spot, so people sometimes have to look twice to find us. We deal with all sorts of lace and trimmings here. It’s a small space, but we have boxes and rolls of stuff piled up almost to the ceiling. Working behind Praga Tools is interesting because there’s always something going on in the area. We’ve been at this for a while. It’s mostly family and a couple of helpers who keep the place running. We spend our days sorting through different patterns and helping customers who come in looking for something specific for their clothes or projects. It’s not a glamorous job, but we like it. The lighting in the shop isn't the best, so we often take samples out to the door to see the colors in the sunlight. We don't have any big signs or posters. People usually find out about Taksha Lace through word of mouth. Someone tells a friend, and then they come by. We try to keep a good variety of items so people don't have to go all over town to find what they need. It gets a bit cramped when more than two people are inside, but we make it work. It’s just a normal local business trying to do right by the folks who shop with us. We’ve been in the neighborhood long enough to know what people like.
