Fancy Opticals & Watch

Fancy Opticals & Watch is a small place tucked into Shop No 38 inside Jamuna Tower. We are right there at Nalgonda X Road in Malakpet, which is always a bit of a mess with traffic and people rushing around. Inside the shop, things are a bit quieter, though you can always hear the ticking of various clocks on the walls. We have been in this tower for a good amount of time now. The display cases for the glasses are a bit old and sometimes the sliding doors stick a little if you don't pull them just right. We spend a lot of time looking through small magnifying loupes to fix watch batteries or adjust tiny screws on eyeglass frames. It takes some patience and a steady hand. The lighting in Jamuna Tower isn't always the brightest in the hallways, so we have extra lamps at our workstations. We see a lot of the same faces coming back after a few years when their vision changes or their favorite watch finally stops ticking. It is nice when someone remembers us from their last visit. We don't have a lot of extra space, so things are stacked pretty high behind the counter. Malakpet is a crowded neighborhood, but we have found our little corner here and we just keep at it day after day. It is a steady way to spend the time while the city moves outside.
