Sujatha Kirana & General Store

You can find Sujatha Kirana & General Store over in Mallepally. We are at Plot 14T, right near the Eidgah and that new office space. Hyderabad has grown so much, but this area still feels familiar. I opened this store because there was a need for a place that stays open for the local families. We carry all the basics you’d expect, like soaps, oils, and grains. Since the new offices opened up, we also get a lot of workers coming in for snacks or cigarettes during their breaks. It keeps us on our toes. The morning rush is the busiest part of the day. I usually have a cup of tea while I wait for the first customers. The shop is a bit cramped because I try to fit as much stock as possible on the shelves. Sometimes things get a bit disorganized, but I know where everything is. The Eidgah is a major landmark, so people always use it to give directions to our shop. It’s a noisy, lively place to be. We’ve seen kids grow up and start coming in to buy things for their own houses. It’s just a regular neighborhood store. We don’t have fancy displays, just the items people use every day. We stay open pretty late most nights. It’s just the way it’s always been for us here. We don't mind the long hours as long as we can keep things running smoothly and serve our neighbors.
