You can find us at Steel Furniture right behind the Sanath Nagar bus stop. Our place at SRT 189 is pretty easy to spot if you’re waiting for your ride. It’s a loud spot with all the buses coming and going, but we’re used to the fumes and the shouting of the conductors by now. Inside, it’s mostly just the smell of cold metal and sometimes a bit of paint or welding dust. We don’t have a big showroom or anything like that. It’s more of a workshop where we actually put things together. The floor is usually covered in scraps and the tools we were using five minutes ago. Sanath Nagar is a busy area, so there’s always someone popping in to ask a quick question while they wait for their bus. We’ve got benches and desks in various stages of being finished scattered around the room. Sometimes the rain gets a bit loud on the roof, making it hard to hear anything else. It’s a straightforward setup. We open up early and usually stay until the sun goes down and the bus traffic thins out. It’s not a quiet life, but it keeps us busy. We just try to keep things organized enough to find what we need. Most of our day is spent moving heavy stuff around or cutting pieces to size. It’s a lot of manual labor, but it’s what we know and what we do.
