You can find St Stephens Junior College over on Ram Narayan Jaiswal Road in the Narayanguda area of Hyderabad. This part of the city is always moving, and the road outside is usually packed with cars and scooters. Inside the college, things are a bit more focused. We have been here for a good while, and we occupy a building that has seen a lot of students pass through its doors. The classrooms are basic but they serve the purpose for the lectures. We have a lot of young people coming in from different parts of Hyderabad to attend classes here. It gets very crowded in the mornings when everyone is trying to get to their first period on time. The staff tries to keep things in order, but with so many students, it can be a challenge. We have a small area where students can hang out during their free time, though most of them end up standing around in the corridors talking. The walls have posters for various events and notices pinned up everywhere. It’s a typical junior college atmosphere—lots of energy and a bit of chaos at times. We don't have a huge campus with gardens, but we make the most of the space we have in this busy urban neighborhood. It is a straightforward place for kids to finish their intermediate studies before they head off to university.
