Our place is at H No. 13-3-121/C in Dilsukh Nagar. If you know Rangareddy district, you know how crowded this area gets. The steel business is heavy and loud. There is always the sound of metal clanging against metal. Dust gets on everything, even the ledgers. We have been at this spot for a while. The office is small and usually has a thick layer of fine grit from the road and the yard. We don't have any air conditioning, just a couple of ceiling fans that hum all day long. Dilsukh Nagar is a hub, so there are always people coming and going. We talk to contractors and builders who are looking for specific rods or sheets. Sometimes the measurements are tricky, and we have to double-check everything twice. It’s not a shiny showroom. It is a yard with stacks of steel and a lot of grease. We drink our chai standing up most of the time. The workers are used to the heavy lifting. We don’t have a mission statement or any of those corporate goals. We just sell steel and try to get the orders right. It’s a messy, honest way to make a living. The Rangareddy sun makes the metal hot to the touch by noon. You learn to wear thick gloves and just get on with it.
