Srinivasa Kirana & General Stores

Srinivasa Kirana & General Stores is another one of those shops in the SR Nagar area. We have been sitting here for quite a while now, watching the street change around us. It is a basic setup with wooden shelves that have seen better days. We stock everything from cooking oil to cleaning supplies. There isn't much room for anything else once you put the big jars of pickles and snacks on the counter. We spend most of the day talking to people from the neighborhood. Some stay for a while to complain about the price of onions or the traffic. It is just part of the routine. We don't have a website or any of that modern stuff. If you want something, you just come in and ask. Sometimes we run out of change and have to ask the customer to wait while we run to the next shop to break a note. It happens more often than I'd like to admit. The floor is concrete and stays relatively cool even when it is boiling outside. We don't put much effort into making the place look pretty because that isn't why people come here. They come because they need something for dinner and we are right on their way home. It’s a simple life, just running a shop and making sure the shelves aren't empty.
