Srinivas General Store

The store is right here at 15-6-571 in Siddiamber Bazar. It gets quite busy in this part of Hyderabad, especially in the mornings when the trucks come in. We usually start early, rolling up the shutters before the sun gets too hot. Most days are just spent sorting out the packets and making sure the shelves aren't empty. People from the neighborhood stop by for small things they forgot to buy earlier. Sometimes the traffic outside is so loud we can hardly hear each other talk. We’ve been at this address for a long time now. The floor needs a good sweep every couple of hours because of the dust from the road. We keep a bit of everything, from soap to cooking oil. It’s a small space, but we manage to fit a lot of stuff inside. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people come in at once. Usually, it's just one person looking for a specific brand of tea or some pulses. We don't do anything fancy here. It is just a regular shop where you can get what you need for the kitchen or the house. The ceiling fan hums all day, but it doesn't do much when it's really humid outside. We know most of the faces that walk through the door. It’s just how things are around here in the bazar.
