Sri Vivekanada College

Sri Vivekanada College is located in Narayanguda, right in the heart of Hyderabad. If you know the area, you know how crowded and noisy it gets with all the shops and the people moving around. The college is in a building that has been part of the street for a long time. We don't have a big campus with green lawns; instead, we have hallways and staircases that stay busy all day long. Students are always rushing up and down to get to their next class or to find a spot to sit and talk. We don't use any corporate language or try to sound like a top-tier university. We are a local college where people come to get their degrees and move on with their lives. The walls are covered with old posters about exams and local events. The office is usually a bit messy with papers and files because there is always something to sign or a student who needs a document. We drink Irani chai from the shop around the corner during our breaks. The traffic noise is something we just got used to over the years. It’s a very urban, realistic setting for a college. We don't have any grand missions, just the daily work of holding lectures and making sure the attendance is kept. It’s just how things are in Hyderabad. The building gets quite hot in the afternoon, but the fans stay on until late in the evening.
