If you walk down Amba Nagar in Parsigutta, you’ll find us at 11-3-416. We are right there near the Goa Pan Shop, which is a good landmark if you’re trying to find the place. Hyderabad heat can be something else, so the shop stays a bit cooler inside with the shade. I spend most of my day behind the counter. We have the usual kirana items like rice, dals, and oils stacked up. It’s a small space, so things get a bit cramped when we have a lot of stock. People from the neighborhood come in for their daily groceries. I know most of them by face, even if I don’t always remember every name. It’s a quiet life mostly. You see the same kids growing up and coming in for sweets or snacks after school. Sometimes the Goa Pan Shop next door gets a lot of people, and the crowd spills over here too. I don't mind it. It keeps the day interesting. The shelves could probably use a new coat of paint, but they hold the jars just fine. Dealing with the suppliers is the hardest part of the job, trying to make sure we don't run out of the popular brands. We just try to keep the doors open and the lights on for whenever someone needs a bag of sugar or some spices for dinner. It is a simple life and it works for me.
