Sri Vasavi Chats & Kirana Store

We are right there at 4/2/156 on Indira Park Road in Jawahar Nagar. The shop is a bit of a mix, handling both grocery needs and a chat corner for snacks. During the morning hours, it’s mostly people coming in for oil, lentils, or other kitchen staples. But once the evening hits, the snack side of the business really takes over. People coming from the park want something spicy and hot to eat. It gets very crowded and we sometimes struggle to keep up with all the different orders. We have a few mismatched stools and small tables for people to use. The air is always thick with the smell of frying spices and sweets. We don't wear uniforms; we just work in our regular clothes. My family helps out during the busy times because there is always something to do. Our small fridge is usually full of cold drinks for when the weather gets hot. On the walls, we have some old calendars and a few pictures we like. We don't use a computer for our accounts. Everything is kept in our heads or written down in small notebooks. It is a lively place to spend the day, and we enjoy seeing the same faces. We stay open until the park crowds head home and then we start cleaning up for the next day. It’s a busy but good life.
