Sri Shyam Steels

You can find Sri Shyam Steels at shop number 71, which is part of the 7-3-81 block in the Kattedan area. Being in Kattedan means we are right in the middle of all the industrial action. It is a place filled with the sound of machines and metal hitting metal. Our shop is where we stock various steel items like rods and beams. It is a rough and ready kind of place. There is always a bit of rust on the floor and our clothes are never really clean by the time we go home. We don't have a showroom with air conditioning; it is just a shutter and a lot of heavy steel inside. We spend our time weighing pieces for customers and helping them load their trucks or autos. Most of the people who come here are builders or local welders who need specific lengths of metal. We have a simple way of doing things, usually just writing orders down in a notebook and doing the math on a small calculator. It gets very hot in this part of town during the summer months, but we just deal with it. We have been here for years, and we know exactly where every piece of steel is kept in the shop. It is hard manual labor and it is not for everyone, but we take a bit of pride in just doing a solid day of work.
