Sri Sai Srinivasa Kirana & General Stores

Our store is on Vegetable Market Road in Nallakunta, which is always a very busy place to be. Sri Sai Srinivasa Kirana & General Stores is the full name, but most people just call us the kirana shop at the corner. We are at number 1-8-724/29/1/A. Being near the vegetable market means there are people around all day. We sell the usual things like rice, dal, and different kinds of spices. We also have some plastic items for the house like buckets and mugs. The shop is quite deep, so we store the sacks of grain in the back. It smells like turmeric and coriander inside. We use an old manual scale for some things and a digital one for others. It’s mostly my family working here. We take turns sitting at the counter. The walls could use a fresh coat of paint, but we haven't found the time to do it yet. Hyderabad summers are quite warm, so we keep the front door wide open for any breeze. Sometimes a stray dog comes and sits in the shade of our awning. We don't mind. We keep a ledger for the regular customers who pay at the end of the month. It's a busy, noisy life here on Market Road, but we are used to it. We keep things moving and make sure people get what they need for their kitchens.
