Sri Sai Ganesh Kirana General Store

Our store is situated at Shop No.3 and 4 on Plot No. 96 in Rajeev Nagar, Moti Nagar. Having two shop spaces joined together gives us a bit more room to store the heavier sacks of rice and wheat. It’s a typical kirana store where you can find almost anything for your kitchen. I spend a lot of my time weighing out items or counting change. The neighborhood is pretty close-knit, so we see the same people every morning for their milk and bread. We have those big jars of candies and snacks right at the front because the local school kids stop by on their way home. It’s often quite dusty because of the road outside, so cleaning is a never-ending task. I try to keep the shelves organized, but by the end of a busy Saturday, things usually look a bit tossed around. We don't have any fancy software to manage our sales, just a thick ledger and a pen. My brother helps me out when I have to go to the main market to pick up supplies. We’ve had this place for years and we’ve seen the area grow quite a bit. It’s just a small family-run business trying to stay busy and keep the shelves stocked with the basics that everyone uses at home. Some days the humidity makes everything feel heavy, but we just keep on with the work.
