Down in Malakpet, things have a very specific feel, and our shop, Sri Sai Durga Kirana And General Stores, is right in the middle of it. We are located at Shop No 2 in Professors Colony. It’s a bit of a quieter area compared to the main Hyderabad hubs, which is nice. Most of our customers are people who have lived in this colony for years. We spend a lot of our time just managing the inventory, making sure we have enough rice, dals, and all the regular household items that families use every day. Being in Professors Colony, you see a lot of educated folks and retired people who like to take their time while shopping. We open up the shop in the morning and start by cleaning the front area. The shelves are filled with everything from small candies to big bags of flour. It is not a very large shop, but we make the most of the space we have. You won't see any flashy signs or loud advertisements here. We just focus on keeping the stock fresh and the prices fair for the neighbors. It’s a steady kind of job, and we’ve gotten to know the families around here quite well. When the sun goes down, the colony gets a bit more active with people out for walks, and they often stop by for a quick chat and to pick up some last-minute items for their dinner.
