Sri Sai Baba General Store

Sri Sai Baba General Store is at Shop No. 11-3-1183 on Mallepally Masjid Road. It’s a lively area of Hyderabad, especially because we are right opposite Crisent School. You can imagine the noise when school lets out. We have a lot of different things on the shelves, from school notebooks to household soaps and detergents. Mallepally is a place where people like to walk around and shop, so we see many faces throughout the day. The shop isn't very modern, just some old glass counters and wooden racks we’ve had for years. Sometimes the traffic on the masjid road makes it hard for the supply trucks to unload, so we have to carry boxes from the corner ourselves. It’s hard work but it keeps us going. My wife helps me out in the mornings after she finishes the housework. We don't really have a big plan for the business, we just want to make sure the neighbors can find what they need without going too far. The light in the shop isn't the best, so we keep the door wide open to let the sun in. Sometimes local residents stop by just to chat for a few minutes while they wait for their kids at the school. It’s a friendly neighborhood and we feel like we are a part of it. Every day is different, but the work stays the same, and we are okay with that. We just take it day by day.
