Sri Raja Kirana & General Store

Gowlipura Market Road is a place that never really sleeps. Our store is right there in the middle of all that action in Hyderabad. We get the early morning rush when the vegetable sellers are setting up their carts nearby. That’s when we open the doors and start bringing out the displays. We sell a lot of dry goods, grains, and those little household items you always seem to run out of. The smell inside is a mix of spices and laundry soap. We have these big plastic bins for the pulses and rice, and the scoops are always busy. My clothes usually smell like the shop by the time I go home. It’s a small place, but it holds a lot. We know the Gowlipura area well because we’ve lived and worked here for so long. People stop by not just to buy things but to complain about the price of onions or the heat. We don't have any air conditioning, just a big pedestal fan that blows the hair around. The counter is scratched from years of coins and bags being slid across it. We don't try to be anything we aren't. We’re just a local kirana store where you can get your groceries without any fuss. The evening is our busiest time when the market road gets completely blocked with people and bikes. We keep going until the last customer leaves. It’s a good life being part of this market community every single day.
