Sri Prabhu Kirana & General Stores

Sri Prabhu Kirana & General Stores is located in Hyderabad at Gollaguda Colony in Subhash Nagar-Trimulgherry. We have two shutters, numbered 1-25-67/2, which gives us a bit more room than some of the other shops nearby. One side is mostly for the heavier kirana items like rice and pulses, while the other side has general store stuff like snacks and household cleaners. Being in a colony means we see the same faces every single day. The Subhash Nagar area is a decent place to work, though it gets very hot in the summer afternoons. We have a lot of items hanging from the ceiling on hooks to save space on the floor. It looks a bit cluttered, but it works for us. The floor is just plain grey stone, and we keep a couple of benches outside for people to sit if they are waiting for someone. We deal with many different suppliers, so there are always trucks stopping by to drop off crates of oil or bags of sugar. It’s a lot of physical work, lifting and moving things around all day long. We don't have any fancy signs or a big marketing plan. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the colony residents to come by for their milk and eggs. It is a steady life here in Gollaguda and we have grown to know everyone’s preferences over the many years we have been open. We just hope the rains aren't too heavy this season.
