Sri Mathaji Kirana And General Store is located at Shop No 104 in Anjaiah Nagar. This is in the Gachibowli area of Hyderabad, which has changed a lot over the years. Even though the rest of Gachibowli has big tall buildings now, Anjaiah Nagar still feels more like a local neighborhood. I start my day around 7 AM to get everything ready. The shop is full of bags and jars of different sizes. Kirana stores like this one have a lot of variety, so the shelves are always overflowing. I spend a lot of time measuring things out or counting items. The street outside Shop No 104 can get quite narrow when cars are parked there. People from the nearby apartments come in for their daily supplies. It’s a lot of work to keep up with what people need every day. The Hyderabad heat is no joke, so the afternoon is usually the quietest time when I can catch a break. I use a small wooden desk for my accounts and keeping the cash. The walls could probably use a new coat of paint, but they are covered with so many products that you can barely see them anyway. Most of the people who live in Anjaiah Nagar are regulars who come by to talk. We don't have a big sign, just the name over the door. It’s a busy life, but it’s what I know. I close up when the street finally gets quiet at night.
