We are located at 8-8-101/2 in Green Park Colony. Our shop is right beside the bus stop on Nagarjuna Sagar Road in Karmanghat. Dealing with steel is heavy and dirty work so our clothes are usually stained with rust and grease by the end of the day. We have long pipes and thick steel rods stacked up in the yard. It can be a bit dangerous if you aren't careful where you walk among the stacks. The sound of metal hitting metal is what we hear all day long. When a bus stops outside, the whole place smells like exhaust for a minute until it moves on. We have a small office space but we spend most of our time outside or in the shed handling the material. We use a lot of white chalk to mark the sizes on the steel before we cut it. It is a very basic operation and we don't have a computer for tracking every little thing. We write down most of our sales in a big ledger book that is falling apart at the edges. My hands are always calloused from the work but that is just part of the job here. People from the construction sites nearby come to us because we are right on the main road and easy to reach. We don't do much to make the place look pretty. It is just a functional steel yard where we get the work done without any fuss.
