Sri Durga Steel Corporation

The shop is located at Dr. No 35-330/B in Kalavathi Nagar, right on the Shapur Nagar Main Road. Most people know us because we are right beside the Telephone Exchange in Jeedimetla. It is a very busy area with trucks and motorcycles always going by. Working with steel means the place is never quiet. You can always hear the sound of metal clanking or the grinder going off in the back. We have stacks of steel rods and sheets everywhere. It gets quite hot in the afternoons, especially under the tin roof, but we are used to it by now. We usually start the day by checking what orders came in the day before. The neighborhood is mostly industrial, so everyone around here is doing some kind of heavy work. We aren't big on decorations or fancy signs. Our walls are mostly covered in old calendars and notes we’ve scribbled for ourselves. Sometimes customers come in just to ask for directions because of the telephone exchange next door. We don't mind. We've been in this spot for a while, and the people around here are like neighbors. Dealing with steel is heavy work, so by the time evening rolls around, we are all pretty tired. We just lock up the gates, make sure everything is sorted for tomorrow, and head home. It is a straightforward way to make a living and it keeps us out of trouble.
