Sri Balaji Kirana&General Store

Our shop is called Sri Balaji Kirana&General Store and you can find us in the Balkampet Ameerpet area. It is a very busy place to have a business because there are always so many people moving around this part of the city at all hours. We have a lot of different things squeezed into a small space because that's just how it is here. It is mostly kirana items like different types of rice, lentils, and cooking oils. We also keep general items that families use every day like soap and toothbrushes. Some people come in just for a single packet of biscuits or a small pouch of milk in the early morning. We don’t have any big signs or anything very modern looking. The walls are lined with old wooden racks and plastic bins for the grains. Dealing with the crowd in Ameerpet can be a bit much sometimes, but it keeps the day moving fast for us. We usually have a small radio playing in the corner while we weigh out things for the customers. It gets really crowded in the evenings when everyone is coming back from their work and remembers they forgot to buy something for dinner. We try to remember what our regular customers like so we can be ready for them. The shop doesn't really change much over the years, just the brands on the shelves change. We are just here doing our job and making sure the neighbors have a place nearby.
