Sri Balaji Kirana

Sri Balaji Kirana is located on the Main Road in Attapur. Our address is 3-4-173/2/A, and we are directly opposite the Eswar Theater. It is a very busy stretch of road, so there is always plenty of dust and noise from the cars and buses passing by. The shop is a standard size for this area, filled with all the basic groceries and household goods people need. We keep the pulses and rice in big containers toward the back and the smaller snack items near the front where people can see them easily. Working here means you get to know the faces of everyone in the locality. Some people just stop in for a single matchbox or a packet of milk on their way home from work. The theater across the street is a good landmark for people trying to find us for the first time. We spend our days weighing out items and chatting with the customers who aren't in too much of a hurry. The floor is concrete and the walls are painted a plain color that’s faded a bit over the years. It doesn't matter much because the shelves cover most of the space anyway. We don't have any big corporate way of doing things, it is just us managing the stock and helping whoever walks in. It is steady work that keeps us busy from the moment we unlock the doors until we close.
