Sri Balaji Kamal Kishore Kirana & General Stores is tucked away at Door No. 1-8-667 on Prakash Nagar Lane. We are right in the Prakash Nagar area of Hyderabad. It is a busy neighborhood with a lot of people living in small apartments and houses around us. The shop is a bit narrow, so we have to use every inch of wall space for shelving. We keep the usual things like shampoos, soaps, and various brands of cooking masalas. There are always crates of milk piled up near the entrance in the morning. People living in the lane usually just pop in for a minute to get what they need. I know most of their faces and even what brand of tea they prefer. The ceiling fan hums quite loudly and the paint on the walls has faded over the years. Sometimes the inventory gets a bit messy and I have to spend the afternoon sorting through boxes of biscuits and noodles. We don't have any big staff, just us working here every day. It is a simple routine of opening up, cleaning the counters, and waiting for the regulars to show up. We try to keep prices fair and make sure we don't run out of the basics like sugar or salt. It is just a local store where we try to be helpful to the people living nearby.
