Spbp Tea (India) Ltd.

We are tucked away at Plot No.- 87 on Crooked Lane. It’s a small street but easy to find if you head towards the Sai Baba Mandir. The temple brings a lot of people to the area, so it’s rarely quiet around here. The building isn't much to look at from the outside, just a plain front with a heavy door. Inside is where we keep all the tea ready for the local market. The name sounds a bit big with "India Ltd" on the end, but we are a small crew just trying to keep things running smoothly. The walls are painted a dull cream color and we have shelves stacked all the way to the ceiling. Sometimes it feels a bit cramped when a big delivery arrives. We spend a lot of time sweeping the floor because the tea leaves have a way of getting everywhere. There’s no air conditioning, just the big windows that we open to catch whatever breeze comes down Crooked Lane. On festival days, the bells from the Mandir are so loud we can barely hear the phone ringing. We just work through it and get the bags weighed and tagged. It’s a lot of manual labor and not much sitting around. We like being in this part of town despite the narrow streets. It’s got a bit of character and we’ve made our home here.
