Laxmi Stationery

Laxmi Stationery sits right behind the Vivanta Taj Hotels on SP Road. It is a small shop but we try to keep it packed with everything a student or an office worker might need. We have rows of notebooks, piles of pens, and those big yellow packets of envelopes. The photocopy machine is probably the busiest thing in the store. It makes a specific clicking sound that we hear all day long. People come in from the street looking for a specific type of blue ink or a certain size of folder. Sometimes we can't find things immediately because the shelves are so full, but we usually know where everything is eventually. It gets a bit cramped when three or four people are standing at the counter at once. Dust settles on the top shelves quite fast, so we are always wiping things down with a cloth. We have been at this H-1-10-104/37 address for a while now. The big hotel nearby makes the road busy, but our corner stays pretty grounded. We sell a lot of pencils and erasers to the local kids. Sometimes they take a long time to choose just one sticker. We don't mind. It is just part of running a shop. We stay open until the evening when the streetlights come on. It is honest work, selling paper and ink to whoever walks through the front door. We keep staplers near the register too. Mornings are quiet, then a rush happens after school let's out. We just keep the lights on and help folks out.
