Siddiamber Bazar is a crowded place, and we are right in the thick of it at number 15-8-05. If you have ever been to this part of Hyderabad, you know how the traffic can get. There are rickshaws and carts everywhere, and the noise of the market never really stops from morning until late evening. Our shop is old, with shelves that go all the way up to the ceiling. We trade a variety of goods and have been doing it from this same spot for a long time. The floor is worn down from years of feet walking in and out. Most days, we are busy checking stock or talking to transporters who are trying to find a place to park their vehicles near the shop. It is a bit of a maze back here, but we know where everything is kept. The air is always full of the smell of spices and tea from the nearby stalls. We don’t have a big fancy sign or a modern lobby. It’s just us, some wooden chairs, and stacks of ledgers on the desk. Sometimes it gets really hot in the afternoons, so we keep the fans running at full speed. People come in to bargain or just to see what’s new in stock. We don’t spend much time on decorations. The work is mostly about moving boxes and keeping track of who needs what. That’s just life in the bazaar.
