Shree Balaji Medicine World & General Stores

This is our place in Kukatpally, Hyderabad, at House No 4-32-41/171/2. We do things a bit differently here because we handle both medicines and general store items. It’s a handy combination for the people around here. If someone needs their regular tablets and also some dish soap or a snack, they can just get it all in one go. Kukatpally is always crowded, so there’s never a dull moment at the shop. Handling the medicine side requires a lot of attention because you can't make mistakes with what people are taking. Then there’s the general side with biscuits, shampoos, and all that. It’s a lot to manage every day. I spend a lot of time on the phone with distributors making sure the medicine stock is fresh and nothing is expired. The shop isn't very large, so every inch of shelf space is used for something. Sometimes it feels like the walls are closing in with all the boxes, but we know exactly where everything is kept. It’s not a polished pharmacy you’d see in a mall; it’s a local spot where people come because they know us. We see a lot of the same faces every month when they come to refill their monthly prescriptions. We just try to stay organized and help out whoever walks through the door, whether they need a bandage or a bag of rice for their kitchen.
