Shiv Shakthi Kirana & General Store

Shiv Shakthi Kirana & General Store is located in Shop No. 1 & 2 of Chandragiri Colony. Being in the Safilguda-Malkajgiri area of Hyderabad means there’s always something going on nearby. We have these two shops together, so there is more room for the sacks of rice and the various packets of snacks we keep on the shelves. It’s mostly just us here throughout the day, opening up early and staying until it gets dark. The colony is usually quiet in the afternoons, but mornings are a bit of a rush when everyone realizes they forgot to buy milk or sugar. We spend a lot of time just moving boxes around and checking what needs to be ordered for next week. It’s a lot of work to keep a kirana store going, but we’ve been at it for a while. The floor needs sweeping often because of the dust from the street. We don’t have any big signs or anything, just the name on the front. People around Safilguda know where to find us. It’s a simple life running a general store, just dealing with local wholesalers and making sure the inventory is right. We don’t really have a big team, just a couple of us making sure everything stays organized. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to sit by the door, but usually, it’s just a normal day.
