You can find Shakeel General Stores over at Sultan Bazar-Koti. Specifically, we’re at 18-7-212, which is tucked into the busy streets of Hyderabad 500095. This shop has been my second home for a long time. It’s a general store, so we try to keep a bit of everything on the shelves. You’ll find snacks, toiletries, and those small things you always seem to lose around the house like safety pins or batteries. The space isn't huge, so we have to use every inch of the walls to stack things up high. I usually spend my time sitting behind the counter, greeting folks from the neighborhood. Some days are slow and I just watch the traffic go by, but other times three people come in at once asking for different things. It gets a bit chaotic then. We don't have any big corporate backing, it's just a local operation here in Sultan Bazar. Sometimes the light flickers a bit or the door squeaks when you open it, but it’s a solid little spot. We keep the ledger books by the phone and try to stay on top of what's running low. It’s honest work. If you live nearby or are just passing through Koti, you’ve probably seen our storefront. We don’t do much advertising; word of mouth from the people around 18-7-212 is usually enough for us to keep going every day. We aren't trying to be fancy, just a reliable place for the basics.
