Sai Grocery Store

So, we are over at 3-19-85 on Hmt Road in Chinthal. Being on a main road like Hmt means we see a lot of traffic passing by, which keeps things interesting. This grocery store is basically a family affair. We spend our days hauling bags of rice and stacking cans of soup on the shelves. It’s not the easiest job in the world, and my back definitely feels it at the end of a long shift. We try to keep a good variety of items so that the folks living in Chinthal don’t have to go all the way into the city for basic supplies. The store isn't very large, so we have to be smart about how we use the space. Often, you’ll find me sorting through the vegetables or checking the dates on the milk. It gets pretty warm in here during the summer months, but we have a couple of fans going to keep the air moving. We don't have a marketing department or anything like that; we just open the doors and help whoever walks in. It is a very normal, local life here. Sometimes we run out of things or the delivery truck is late, and we just have to explain that to our regulars. People are usually understanding. 3-19-85 isn't just an address to us, it’s where we’ve built our little business over the years. It’s simple, practical, and it keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
