Saffar Kirana General

This little shop here in Mallapally on Abdul Sager Road has been around for quite a while now. We are right in the Zamistanpur area, not too far from the Jhapala Majid, which is a big landmark for everyone around here. Most days start early, usually before the sun gets too hot, just so we can get the new stock inside and arranged on the wooden shelves. It’s a simple setup at Saffar Kirana General, nothing fancy at all. We have the usual things people need like packets of biscuits, oil, soaps, and those big sacks of rice that we keep near the counter. The fan on the ceiling makes a bit of a clicking sound when it’s on full speed, but it helps when the afternoon heat kicks in. People from the neighborhood stop by all day long, some just for a single matchbox or a small packet of milk. We know most of the faces because they live in the houses nearby or walk this way to the masjid. Sometimes the road gets really dusty when the bikes go by, so we spend a lot of time wiping down the jars. It's just a regular life here, keeping things organized and making sure we don't run out of the basics. We don't have a big sign or anything, just the shop name and the daily routine of opening the shutters every morning and closing them when the street goes quiet at night.
