Safa Baggage

Safa Baggage is tucked away in Mehdipatnam, specifically at No. 102 in the Vndhyachal Apartment. It’s right near the SD Eye Hospital, which is a big landmark for anyone trying to find us. Working out of an apartment building is a bit different than having a shop on the main road. We have bags and materials piled up in different corners. There is always the sound of sewing machines running. We make different kinds of baggage, and there are zippers and buckles all over the place. Mehdipatnam is a crowded area, so there is always something going on outside. You can hear the traffic from the main road even though we are a little bit tucked back. Sometimes customers get a bit lost trying to find the right apartment number, but they eventually see our sign. It’s a busy life, trying to keep up with all the stitching and repairs. We don't have a lot of space, so we have to be careful about where we put everything. The light in the rooms isn't always the best, so we use extra lamps to see what we are doing with the needles. It’s just a few of us here working away. We take our lunch breaks together and talk about whatever is happening in the news. It’s not a corporate office, just a workspace where we get our hands dirty with fabric and thread. It keeps us occupied from morning until late evening. Every day is pretty much the same.
