Sadr City Hospital

Our hospital is right near the Peeli Dargah in the Borabanda area. People usually use the Dargah as a landmark to find us since the streets around here can be a bit confusing if you aren't a local. The building is a decent size, and we have a few floors to manage. It stays busy because Borabanda is a crowded neighborhood. You can hear the sounds of the market and the street vendors coming through the windows most of the time. The lobby has a tiled floor that we have to mop several times a day because of all the feet coming through. We have a pharmacy section right by the entrance which is usually where the biggest crowd gathers. The doctors here stay on their feet for long shifts. It’s a practical kind of place. We don’t have fancy paintings or expensive rugs in the offices. Everything is meant to be used and cleaned easily. Sometimes the power goes out for a minute and the generator kicks in with a loud groan. That's just how it is around here. We see all sorts of cases, from small cuts to people who need to stay for a few nights. The staff is mostly local, so they speak the same way the patients do. It’s a community hospital through and through, right in the heart of the noise.
