S. M. Steel

If you are looking for S. M. Steel, you have to find your way to Bahadurpura. Our shop number is a bit of a headache, Shop No. 19-2-230/D/5/4/3 & 4, which is a lot of numbers to remember but we are right near Kamela. It’s a crowded area and there is always something going on in the street. Working with steel is heavy and dirty work, so don't expect to see us in clean shirts. We spend the day moving pipes and sheets, and the sound of metal clanging is pretty much the soundtrack to our lives. The shop isn't huge, so we have to be smart about how we stack things so we don't run out of room. Some days it feels like we are just moving piles from one side to the other. Bahadurpura has its own rhythm and we’ve become a part of it over the years. It’s not a glamorous job, and the sun hits the front of the shop pretty hard in the afternoon, making the metal hot to touch. We just get on with it though. We aren't trying to be the biggest company out there, we just want to handle our orders and make sure the count is right. Most people find us because they know the Kamela landmark. It’s a bit noisy and cramped sometimes, but it’s our space and we make it work.
