S Laxman & Associates

Our place is in Himayat Nagar, specifically Street Number 14 at Banjara Sadan. We are on the third floor, flat 301. It’s a regular apartment that we turned into an office. It feels more like a home than a corporate space, which we prefer. S Laxman & Associates is just a small group of us doing design work and handling all the paperwork that comes with building things. We've been in this neighborhood for quite a while. Most of our day is spent looking at maps and site plans. We have a lot of old files stacked up in the corner because we never seem to throw anything away. It’s a bit dusty, but we know where everything is. We don't have a receptionist or anything like that. If the phone rings, whoever is closest picks it up. We do our best to help people who are trying to build their first home or maybe a small office. It’s not always glamorous work. There is a lot of checking regulations and making sure the plumbing goes in the right place. We just try to be honest about what can be done with the budget people have. Sometimes we have to tell them their idea won't work, which is hard, but it's better than lying. We just want the buildings to stay standing. It is simple work, really.
